MY STORY
My name is Jonathan Galland and I am a French music composer, currently
established in San Francisco (California). I immigrated to the United States
through the "Alien of Extraordinary Ability" Green Card (aka. the "Einstein
Visa"). My work for motion pictures has received international music awards
in more than 20 countries and has been featured on internet radios, trade
publications, and various film music blogs.
I was classically trained from a young age as a violinist and through the
French music schools, before finding my calling in the field of composition
for motion pictures and live shows. I earned my MFA in Music Production
& Sound Design for Visual Media, with an emphasis on Film Scoring at
the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
I am presently a member of the Recording Academy (NARAS) which host the annual Grammy Awards, and am also approved to submit work for Academy Award consideration in the “Best Original Score” category. I was a voting member on the panel of the 2021 World Soundtrack Awards in Belgium, and have been a member of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, where I have served numerous times as a judge for the prestigious JUNO Awards.
As a musical storyteller, I now delight myself in helping many filmmakers bring their vision to life through the power of sound.
